Titian Muhibah: New Chapter is the latest exhibition at Kapallorek with the collaboration from Kersan Art Foundation

Kapallorek Artspace is an independent art space based in Seri Iskandar, Perak and was formed in 2014 by Fadly Sabran. It operates as a non-profit organization that serves as an alternative platform for New Media Artists, Interdisciplinary Arts, Experimental Artists, Residency Artists & Art Researchers. They have been working hard since its formation with local exhibitions with artist such as Azizan Paiman Rahman, Arafat Hambali and Hawari Berahim to name a few. Not only locally, they also have represented Malaysia in international exhibitions such as Shinano Primitive Sense Art Festival and Venice Biennale in 2022.

Ilham Khoiri’s Work

This time, they have been working with Jogjakarta based Kersan Art Foundation to produce their latest exhibition entitled, Titian Muhibah: New Chapter. Opening its doors to the public on June 10, 2023, at Kapllalorek, the exhibition promises to ignite your senses and transport you into a world of captivating artistry!

The title came from a phrase derived from the Indonesian-Malaysian language, symbolizes unity and harmony, encapsulating the spirit of this collaborative venture between Kapallorek Artspace and Kersan Art Foundation. This exciting exhibition serves as a testament to the fusion of creativity and cultural exchange, bringing together a stellar line-up of Indonesian contemporary artists.

Lenny’s Work

Eight Indonesian artists will exhibit their works for this exhibition ranging from multitudes of styles. Awahab will enthrall you with a mesmerizing symphony of music and visual arts, while Hagung Sihag’s has prepared an installation artwork that interacts with Malaysia’s young generation.

Brace yourself for Ilham Khoiri’s fearless exploration of social boundaries and Irvin Domi’s explosive fusion of pop culture and Indonesian influences. Malaikat’s intricate linework will awaken your spiritual senses, Saepul Bahri’s paintings will stir your emotions, and Ulil Gama’s bold crusade will ignite your consciousness. Finally, Ve Dhanito’s masterpieces will challenge your perception of reality.

Aside from that, three dynamic collectives from Indonesia will also showcase their works. Athenos immerses audiences in a mesmerizing fusion of music and visuals, while MATA AIR transports viewers to mystical realms through virtual contextual artwork. PEREXS challenges societal norms with thought-provoking art that empowers women and sparks social dialogue.

Ve Dhanito’s work

Each artwork offers a unique lens through which we can reflect upon our shared humanity, our interconnectedness, and the power of artistic expression. As visitors explore the exhibition, they are invited to witness the convergence of traditional and contemporary elements, the interplay of colour and form, and the exploration of societal themes and personal narratives.

Not only visually New Chapter goes beyond the traditional boundaries of art, exciting the auditory as well. It invites audiences to immerse themselves in a multisensory experience, where music, visuals, and dialogue intersect to create a dynamic and engaging encounter with the artworks.

Titian Muhibah: New Chapter will be ongoing at Kapllorek Artspace until Jul 31st and the gallery is open from Tues – Sun, 11AM – 5PM.
