Prepare to be transported into the mesmerising world of Indian mythology with “Reflections,” a multi-genre performance that combines theatre, Indian classical and folk dances, and stunning multimedia projections. This unique cultural showcase is set to dazzle audiences on July 5 and 6, 2024, at the Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC).
Reflections is more than just a performance; it is a visual and auditory feast that brings to life the legendary tale of Garuda, the king of birds in Indian mythology. Follow Garuda on his quest for the nectar of immortality, guided by his wise yet cantankerous teacher. The narrative is enriched with a spectacular dance drama featuring the ten avatars of Vishnu, depicting various heroic figures from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, and even Gautama Buddha.
This production boasts the talents of award-winning artists from India and Malaysia, ensuring a captivating and high-quality performance. The inclusion of multimedia projections and English subtitles ensures that the rich cultural stories and dances are accessible to everyone, providing a deeper understanding and appreciation of the performance.
Reflections is presented by Mahavidya Dance Theatre, a non-profit organisation dedicated to teaching performing arts to underprivileged children in Klang Valley and providing them with performance opportunities. By attending this event, you are not only witnessing a remarkable performance, but also supporting a worthy cause that promotes arts education for all youth, regardless of socio-economic background.
