After the unprecedented success and resonance of the Northern Plucked Ensemble's inaugural concert in Penang in April 2024, fans from the Central Malaysia are eagerly anticipating the ensemble's arrival in Kuala Lumpur!

"Sailing with the strings, exploring the music of China."

"String Odyssey" is a dedicated concert primarily featuring plucked string ensemble performances, meticulously crafted by Mr. Ong Chin Siang and the Northern Plucked Ensemble.

In this era of vast information and artificial intelligence, globalisation has a profound impact on people's lives, literacy, and culture. The trend towards the modern Westernised aesthetic has led to the gradual forgetting the value of folk culture, making people impatient, restless, and indifferent. With the rise of artificial intelligence, if music also becomes technicized, it will lose its emotional and authentic values. Therefore, traditional music, which carries rich folk styles and emotions, must be passed down to the next generation to cultivate a pursuit of truth, goodness, beauty, and empathy.

"String Odyssey" embodies the diverse musical styles of various Chinese provinces and ethnicities, presenting multiple classic plucked string ensemble pieces that evening. Music Director Mr. Ong Chin Siang will guide the audience through an appreciation of these pieces and their original music, leading everyone on a journey to experience the musical styles of Beijing, Xinjiang, Suzhou, Shandong, and other regions. Using musical notes to map the journey, this concert promises to offer the audience a unique musical feast
