Czech Impressions
Description
Under the helm of its Music Director and Resident Conductor, @kokkokleong, The @klpacorchestra brings the dreamy “Czech Impressions”, featuring music from Czech Romantic composers Antonín Dvořák and Bedřich Smetana.
Featuring two of Dvořák’s most memorable works – Kolo from Slavonic Dances Op. 72 and Cello Concerto in B Minor featuring cello soloist Eric Yip.
“Czech Impressions” also shines the spotlight on Bedřich Smetana, who was responsible for the internationally-acclaimed comic opera The Bartered Bride. The orchestra will perform the Overture as well as three dances – Polka, Furiant and Skočná (Dance of the Comedians) from the opera as well as another piece from his symphonic poems called Vltava (The Moldau), a moving tribute to Bohemia and its countryside landscape.
