Description
Join us for a leisurely two-hour walk in Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown, a historic area that has a rich past and a diverse culture.
Our knowledgeable tourist guides will share fascinating stories about Chinatown’s heritage. You’ll hear about people who lived there in the past and those who live there now, many of whom are keeping alive traditional trades and crafts.
We’ll show you the pre-war shophouses with their original facades and numerous eateries that you can check out later yourselves. Chinatown is not only known for its traditional food; you can also find flavourful fusion dishes that are a blend of Asian and Western cuisines.
The area is now a popular hub for trendy, modern cafés, bars and restaurants. There are numerous placemaking projects in Chinatown and many colourful murals that depict the people and character of the area past and present.
Our walks are interactive; traders are happy to stop and chat with participants. Young participants are most welcome; we always take care to engage with the young people joining us.
