Nestled within the verdant landscape of Bukit Tunku, a new culinary destination, fennel & co., officially opened its doors on May 12, 2025. Positioned as more than just a restaurant, it aims to be a welcoming neighbourhood spot that embodies the essence of home, a place “where spices tell stories”.

fennel & co. was thoughtfully designed as an invitation to slow down and feel at home. It fosters an environment where “stories are told over warm plates and cups, where laughter drifts across tables, and where strangers become friends”. The founding team behind fennel & co. emphasized their vision, stating, “We’ve built more than just a space to eat – we’ve built a space to belong”. This philosophy extends to every moment, from “quiet mornings with a cup of coffee to late afternoons filled with brainstorming sessions and laughter, and cosy, relaxed evenings with loved ones”, aiming to be “a home for both the everyday and the meaningful moments”.
Culinary Philosophy
“Spice is an essence of unity to the people” is at the heart of fennel & co.’s culinary philosophy, The restaurant provides “a welcoming space where guests from all backgrounds gather to share meals that bridge cultures and create connections.” The culinary journey at fennel & co. began with spice. “Inspired by Malaysia’s rich tapestry of flavours—Chinese, Malay, Indian, and indigenous traditions—alongside Western culinary innovations, our menu tells the story of cultural exchange through food.” Indeed, “each dish represents a chapter in this ongoing narrative of taste and tradition.” In their kitchen, “traditional Malaysian spices dance alongside Western culinary techniques, creating dishes that honour both worlds,” resulting in “unforgettable flavour profiles that could only be born in Malaysia’s multicultural landscape.”
fennel & co. also proudly adheres to halal practices, viewing it not as an obligation but “as an act of reverence” This commitment ensures that “every ingredient is selected with intention, and each dish is prepared with the same care you’d find in a well-loved home kitchen.”
Fusions Haven

The menu showcases a blend of nostalgic comfort and modern creativity, offering a “culinary conversation that spans continents.” Guests can savour “Malaysian-infused pasta or enjoy Western classics with Malaysian twists”. Highlights include the generous fennel & co.’s Biiig Breakfast, offering a choice of Spanish chicken or corned beef sausage. For those with a taste for comforting classics, the Croque Monsieur features chicken ham, grated cheese, and rich mornay sauce embraced by soft brioche. A more adventurous palate might gravitate towards the Buttermilk, oat-crumbed, crispy fried chicken, served with house-made gochujang, habanero, and chili lime sauces that add “layers of bold and vibrant flavours.” Embracing local tastes, the Nyonya Tomyam Prawn Spaghetti stands out with its aromatic herbs and a “tangy, creamy and spicy finish.”

Matcha enthusiasts will find a dedicated selection of beverages, including the classic Matcha Latte, the visually striking Matcha Blossom topped with a thick layer of strawberry cream for a subtle fruity hint, and the Dirty Matcha, a bold fusion of earthy matcha and a shot of espresso for an extra caffeine kick.
