TU7OH
Description
In an exploration of the self and the realities around us, TU7OH stands as an interlace of voices and perspectives through visual art. The exhibition brings together seven Penang-based artists with varied backgrounds, skills, and influences, each presenting a series of artworks as an extension of their interpretations of the number seven.
The exhibition facilitates viewers to immerse themselves in a range of approaches - from traditional, experimental, postmodern, and contemporary. It is also a celebration of mediums and techniques shaped and defined by the seven elements of art – line, colour, value, shape, form, space, and texture. Neither works nor artistic practices overlap, yet the artistry enables viewers to witness, analyse and unravel the connections and interactions of art, creativity and storytelling.
Well-received throughout George Town Festival 2022, TU7OH now tours temu house, offering a different experience with similar threads. With each artist extending works in their series and others creating new forms of artwork, TU7OH acts as another chapter of the same book – a continuation of their story.
Featuring Aboud Fares, bibichun, ERYN, Esther Geh, Maizul Affendy, Mandy Maung and White Bones, TU7OH weaves individual narratives into a tapestry of the past and present. It then compels us to wonder about the future and our place in reshaping or recreating all that lies ahead.
