Thrill, tragedy and tainted love: Watch ‘Mariam’ at klpac

Mariam, an exciting new thriller by the TUTAS Conservatory of Performing Arts, is set to premiere from December 14 to 17, 2023 at Pentas 2, klpac.

Despite his father’s objections, Daniel decides to investigate a mysterious disappearance that happened 20 years ago in his father’s kampung. Armed with just a duffle bag and a piece of paper, he heads to Kampung Bayang where he is taken in by his Uncle Dai and Mak Lei.

Uncle Dai tries to convince him not to look into the case but to help the villagers with the upcoming harvest festival. Daniel remains adamant. Unperturbed by superstitions and taboos, he secretly heads to the abandoned house that is said to be haunted. There, he meets Mariam. Slowly, he learns about the dark tragedy surrounding this case and fights his own family to protect someone he loves.
